ABOUT KING & KEEL 05
Operational experience.
Practical AI guidance.
King & Keel helps organizations make informed decisions about AI—connecting practical opportunities with clear strategy, thoughtful evaluation, and responsible governance.
Founded by Joseph “Joe” King, the firm draws on his experience in defense research, technical leadership, and the testing and evaluation of emerging technologies. A U.S. Navy veteran, Joe brings a mission-focused approach grounded in understanding operational needs, establishing clear expectations, and maintaining human accountability for decisions.
His work at George Mason University’s Rapid Prototyping Research Center has included technical direction, stakeholder coordination, and evaluation of complex systems supporting national-security missions. He brings that experience to helping businesses, public agencies, and mission-focused teams assess AI opportunities, evaluate solutions, and establish practical safeguards.
His applied AI experience includes designing, developing, and testing a customized AI-powered work assistant for a consulting firm serving local-government clients. Integrated with Microsoft SharePoint, the solution supports document retrieval, version comparison and analysis, meeting preparation, research, reporting, and billing-support workflows, with client confidentiality and human oversight built into its design.
That experience shapes King & Keel’s approach: understand the work, examine the options, establish safeguards, and give people a practical path forward.
